'Tis A Gift...

After a small, but lovely, Thanksgiving meal with just the two of us at the table...prayers for our children and families...after dishes are cleared a pot of coffee making and outdoors in the fresh air to do the chores.

So many blessings, so much to be thankful for ~ including all of you my readers and far flung friends!

"Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free
'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.

'Tis the gift to have friends and a true friend to be,
'Tis the gift to think of others not to only think of "me",
And when we hear what others really think and really feel,
Then we'll all live together with a love that is real...."

(A special hello to my friend Susan! )

If that was me, and even if it wasn't, Hello to you two. Not also, but two.
There is a stair where I like to sit. . . . . .
We are having our family Thanksgiving on Saturday with a bird and a ham.
Yesterday, on Thanksgiving, I did think of you, as we too dined alone, on lamb chops, roasted potatoes and parsnips. There is much to be said about a well worn marriage. Words that don't need to be said, the warmth and contentment of knowing that there is someone there who cares so deeply that your needs are answered. Take care my friend, time to get those warm coffee socks out for the winter.
